MCAT 2019 Exam Dates: Exam Scheduling Deadline and Score Release Dates

The Association of American Medical Colleges (AAMC) will be conducting MCAT (Medical College Admission Test) to provide admissions to the qualified candidates in the medical colleges of United State, Canada, Australia, and the Caribbean Islands. The admission test is conducted several times a year in different cities all over the United States and Canada and certain selected locations internationally. On the given date, the test will start at 8 a.m. as per the city’s local time and similarly, the score will be released by 5 p.m.

Eligibility for MCAT 2019

  • The candidates who are planning to apply to a health professions school, which includes MD-granting programs, DO-granting programs, Podiatric (DPM) and Veterinary medicine (DVM), are eligible.
  • Those candidates are also considered eligible who wish to go to any health-related program that accepts MCAT score to provide admissions.
  • During registration, the applicants will have to provide a statement verifying their intentions to apply to a health professions school.
  • If the candidate is not planning to go to a health professions school or is currently enrolled medical student in any degree program other than MBBS, they will have to obtain “special permission” to register for the MCAT exam.
  • To request special permission, an email is to be sent to mcat@aamc.org, mentioning the reason(s) for taking the exam.
  • For international examinees, those who are pursuing or hold an MBBS degree can also apply.

MCAT 2019 Registration Process

The registration for MCAT 2019 will be done online. The candidates will have to create an account by providing their personal details like name, gender and email ID. The candidates will get a confirmation email after their successful registration. This account will be used for future correspondence and can be created at least 60 days before the commencement of the test.

Exam Pattern

The paper consists of multiple-choice questions and the questions are asked to judge the problem solving and critical thinking of the candidate and to assess the knowledge of natural, behavioral, and social science concepts and principles prerequisite to the study of medicine. In the new version of the MCAT exam, scores are reported in four categories:

  • Chemical and Physical Foundations of Biological Systems
  • Biological and Biochemical Foundations of Living Systems
  • Psychological, Social, and Biological Foundations of Behavior
  • Critical Analysis and Reasoning Skills
